The children did an amazing job at mass today. I was really proud of all their hard work preparing for the mass.

In reading and phonics this week we are learning to identify and read words with the long vowel sound of o spelled oa, ow, and o with a silent e. We have also been talking about the sequence of a story.

In English, we are learning about adjectives. We have also been discussing antonyms and synonyms. We have been working very hard on our Young Author's books.

In math we are learning about place value and number patterns. We have learned about number order, skip counting, odds and evens ,and comparing numbers. We are doing a lot of work with hundreds charts. We continually practice our addition and subtraction facts.

In science we are learning about life cycles. So far, we have learned about the life cycles of butterflies, frogs, and some plants. We will plant some seeds and observe their growth over a period of time. We will do some fun groundhog day projects on Thursday.

In social studies we are talking about what it means to be part of a group and different groups we all belong to. We will also discuss problems people have getting along and how to solve them.

In religion we are beginning to learn more about the early ministry of Jesus. We will talk about how He called people to be His followers and how we can follow Jesus today.
